TRIVIA: The cover art by Aslan was originally created for Vampirella #1, but was rejected as Vampirella looked "too pale", and they had to call in Frank Frazetta to do a new cover.

There were two versions of this Special, a standard "soft cover" version (what we would call today a "Trade Paper Back") which retailed at $4.95, and a limited edition Deluxe Hard Cover which retailed at $12.50.
Only 500 of the limited edition were ever produced and each issue was numbered and signed by José Gonzalez on the inside of the front cover (there is a scan of my copy's signature below). A particularly rare and collectable item, the signed Hard Cover is one the most valuable and expensive Vampirella items to buy.
